This is a tale of two plants; a String of Hearts and a String of Turtles. Both plants were started from clippings from my niece’s plants. The turtles were planted July 23, 2025 and they started growing. I began winding a string or two in a circle in the pot and after a while the turtles were off. I received some clippings from her String of Hearts on September 7, 2025 and followed the same method. And here’s where I am a year later.
The only difference in these two plants is that the turtles are in a smaller pot. Other than that, they are in the same soil. They receive the same nutrients. They get the same light.
If you have any thoughts about why one is growing and the other isn’t, let me know. I am baffled by this one. As a side note, my niece, from whom my plants came, has a thriving String of Hearts and a struggling String of Turtles. Go figure…
